It's not miserable, it's praiseworthy.
I praise my dad for his sacrifices, but eventually there is gonna have to be a conversation had between generations about how we move forward with manhood in the West.

Because a common thread amongst a large number younger Nigerian boys/men is "my dad was miserable/angry 90% of the time, I don't want to live like that."

And the problem is in America, they don't have to live to that standard of manhood, of working and stressing yourself to death in hope of eventual reward.

Are you sure? I mean if you have enough bread from the beginning in order to put your family where it needs to be without working hard, so be it. But If you don't, it will be your duty to make sure your fam is okay, even if you need to put your happiness on hold. I don't see how it does not apply in the US.

I'm not talking about young Nigerians since I don't know them like that. But a lot of kids I know from my generation or younger don't want to live like their dad because they are lazy. They want that easy money. They can't stand any type of effort. That's why they don"t understand their parents. It's just a different mentality.

:yeshrug: being a husband, provider, and a father figure ain't easy but it's also not an excuse to not have some fun with it.

I swear nuance and the finer details is lost on this generation. Nikkas need to be spoon fed basic principles. These new nikkas soft for real :hhh:

Breh. If she feels like she want to divorce you, it's her right to take half. It's your fault, if you don't fight for your marriage. It's not about her being right or wrong, it's about HER. Periodt.

Hell Nah. :camby:

Change the alimony laws. Or end civilization altogether.
