Didn't take it serious then. And don't now. Reason being, yes prince came at him first and Timberlake couldn't really just ignore it or play it off because it came from a legend

Just because someone is a legend doesn't give mean they are immune to someone responding to them. As long as the response isn't done in a way that attempts to discredit or downplay the legacy of said legend or is a personal attack on them, their character, or someone they care about, I don't really see the harm.
