I think we put up a damn good fight. Keep in mind it took cacs 400yrs to pull it off. They started their bullsht in the 1400s. And there were dozens of independent African kingdoms deep into the 1800s. There were losing wars with everybody from the Swahili city states to the kingdom of Kongo up until the mid 1700s.
Compare that to native americans who were gone in 200yrs.
Red-dot Indians who were gone in 200yrs
Japanese who lasted 300 years.
Polynesians were gone in less than 100yrs.
I think the only real competitor to the black man is the chinese who lasted about 100yrs longer than us at 500 yrs of resistance. It was a wrap for china around the same time Africa fell in the 1800s, but they were holding their own since the 1300s.

Mainly revenge, sadness, and rage.... Its not healthy for me.
I get filled with alot of rage.... too much rage.
When studied in it's entirety, it's not really depressing. There are no chosen victors or permanent kings. We are only one dot in a million years story. View it subjectively as a historian or scientist would.
I see blocks of time of euro control. I see blocks of time of Arab control. I see blocks of time of Indian control. I see blocks of time of African control. I see blocks of time of east Asian control. It's cyclical. The only constant here is change.
I mean no ill-will towards you when I say this, but getting angry over this stuff is like crying over spilled milk. There will always be more milk in the freezer of life.

The better we understand why it happened in the past is the only way we can prevent it from happening in the future. The same mindset that led to us getting subjugated centuries ago is still present within us in some ways today. It has to be confronted.
I know exactly what you mean. I have to read Black history in doses.
This is exactly why they don't teach it to us properly in school.

There is a sizable distance between China and western Europe, whereas there is a shorter distance between west Africa and Europe.
When you take that into account, Black resistance lasting that long is pretty impressive especially considering the technological advantage Europeans had.
And as I posted before, Africans reverse engineered a lot of European tech/weaponry to aide them in their battles against European powers. While it was too late at the time it was still mightily impressive what Africans were capable of.
Take that into account and also take into account that Africans were warring with each other while fending off Europe.
