It's still crazy to me that there's crips/bloods in new york and gds in places like georgia. Were chicago/la dudes just moving around creating sets or did dudes throughout the country just start to claim shyt like crips,gds,etc?

In addition to jail, I think alot of guys are drawn to the structure and tradition. It's got lingo, rules, different sets have their own histories, and it makes you part of a group. That kind of thing appeals to men in general. Dudes want to be part of a team, even of it's involved in evil. The LA gangs provide that to the highest degree for guys who were never going to sniff a college campus to pledge a frat, or who didn't want to join the military.
