I'd just want to know how is it justice? Even countries like Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and I think Germany don't have it. We have to understand while these people do deserve time behind bars people aren't g-d. In my view, the death penalty is just as inhumane as taking another person's life.

It reminds me of that Wanda Jean Allen woman who was mentally ill. She even changed and they still wouldn't give her clemency/killed her.

Why do you think the death penalty is just? Also, we claim to be the best country in the world. So, give me your reasoning.

I dont think it's justice at all. If anything if the culprit didnt have to search much time in prison before being killed it's like they got away with it.

Let's put it this way i'd rather die than spend 3-5 years in jail. Dying is the ultimate escape to me :yeshrug:

Everyone might not feel that way just because you do. Let me put it this way if someone assualted my child his corspe being under the dirt would be justice for me. You being isolated in a cube does nothing for me.

You think someone who murders numerous people deserves to live?
It’s not for anyone to decide if they deserve to live.

Also, I hope you feel the same about war crime / murder.

Obama (although my favorite president ever), and many other presidents throughout history has more blood on his hands than any of the people who were sentenced to death for murder. But thats okay because ya know.. war and stuff :yeshrug:

I'm not morally against the death penalty.

However, after being an attorney in the Criminal Justice System for half a decade, and considering the public confidence in our system, how can anyone be okay w/ the death penalty in such a broken system?

As a result of the dysfunction of our system, I can not support its use. Whether it's Dylan Roof or whoever, life in prison.

-----------------------------

I do believe some crimes deserve death, but again, considering how possible it is to be wrongfully convicted, I can't be for it.

Easy to say that on the outside looking in. But if some dude raped and murdered your kid you would be on some punisher shyt
That’s personal. Of course I would. As would anyone. We’re talking about the system though. We’re talking about white men in suits deciding when and how to take someone’s life.

No crime deserves death.

There is no measure, and no one should be taking anyone’s life. It’s too precious.
Someone who has killed multiple people doesnt deserve death?
Someone who has raped multiple people?
Someone who has robbed multiple people because they were too lazy to get a job?

I disagree strongly. It's multiples that deserve an equal consequence for their crime's severity. Isolation in a room isn't a severe punishment. And severe punishments dissuades people from committing heinous crimes in the first place.

There is no measure, and no one should be taking anyone’s life. It’s too precious.
It's plenty of tangible measures such as what you would contribute to society like said earlier. Your answer sounds self-righteous fanatical and romanticized

And it's more so about order than justice.
