How far ahead of the curve was Treach from Naughty By Nature in 1991?

From before 1992 I cant think of anybody on his level except Organized Konfusion, Kool G Rap, LL and Kool Keith from that time period. Only difference was that Treach had mainstream appeal too. Most rappers were on that slow flow: Rakim, Kane, Puba, Too Short, Ren, Ice Cube, KRS, EPMD etc.

Dude had a great mix of tenacity, cadence, swag and flow on the mic. Could ride the beat better than anyway. I was born in 91, so outside of Craziest and Jamboree i hadnt heard much of NBN except for the odd single here and there like Hip Hop Hooray in NBA Street and shyt. Eventually I went through his older shyt probably around age 14 and Treach had to have been the most advanced rapper on the mic at that time. Technically, Ice Cube, MC Ren,

I wonder if Kurupt listened to Treach before them Chronic verses cause they cut from the same cloth :ehh:

Treach is one of Hip Hop's most underrated MC's.

I always wanted this cat to do a solo, and he said he was trying to back in the late 90's. Just didn't happen. But this dude was so ridiculous with it. He really peaked lyrically on Poverty's Paradise. The flow and rhymes were just insane on that album. Him being in the group and them being known mostly for the anthems made people sleep on him, I think. But he's one of the best.

Wish he would have had the whole song to himself on Uptown Anthem. Always thought his name was dope too
