From before 1992 I cant think of anybody on his level except Organized Konfusion, Kool G Rap, LL and Kool Keith from that time period. Only difference was that Treach had mainstream appeal too. Most rappers were on that slow flow: Rakim, Kane, Puba, Too Short, Ren, Ice Cube, KRS, EPMD etc.
Dude had a great mix of tenacity, cadence, swag and flow on the mic. Could ride the beat better than anyway. I was born in 91, so outside of Craziest and Jamboree i hadnt heard much of NBN except for the odd single here and there like Hip Hop Hooray in NBA Street and shyt.
