How friendly are yall with your neighbors?

ive lived in my apartment for 30 years. the same indian family has lived next door for about that much time.

i dont even know their names.

125 apartments across 6 floors and i interact with maybe 3 inhabitants.

I keep it cordial but I don't want to know anyone's personal life. I live in a very large apartment bldg and I prefer to be anonymous as possible. Most people in the bldg are the same.

I live in a multicultural neighborhood, so...

My immediate next door neighbor to my right are cool. Very respectful, mind their business, etc.

People across the street I don't k ow and seriously doubt In will ever know. They are Indian and they can be if you catch my drift?

The ones down the street, some speak, others don't speak.

Don't care either way...

But, I am a part of a FB neighborhood group and people interact on the page.

Gotta just do me, mind my own and live my life. fukk it!

We get always get cool with older people on the block.

They usually been in the neighborhood awhile. Know what's going on.

My lawnmower broke down, my 60 year old neighbor cut til I got a new one.
Trash too full, old lady cross the street let me use hers.
Hell, one of my previous neighbors legit had the gift of sight.

I do think that neighbors being friends/extended family shyt was true b4 our generation.

Why it changed??? I had know idea.

But my grandma was like the whole projects grandma.

I’m as unfriendly as possible. There’s an old retired Italian guy who will try to trap you into a long conversation. I talk to him every now and then. Besides him, there’s a breh across the street who I talked to once.

Good he a older black dude his wife passed a few years ago. My wife makes sure he get a plate on every holiday. He looks after the house when we outta of town like pull the trash to the curb and back, get the packages and mail. Good guy.

I'm only cool with the old breh across me. A Vietnam vet. He helped me out a lot when Hurricane Irma was about to hit Florida.

Use to have loud white trash renting the house next to me, I didn't like them but there was no drama.

I have the phone numbers of two of my neighbors. They hold my mail when I'm away for a few weeks, and I allow them and family/friends of theirs to park on my driveway if guest spots are taken up. They've really helped me out.

Lmao my neighbor next door locked the door fast as fukk when I was leaving my apartment one time. But other than that i never see them. I know who they are though based off of mail left in the mail room

My family is pretty friendly with the neighbors. My kids play with the other kids of young families while we drink beers and talk. Lots of blue collar folks and retirees. I live next door to a cop and a union carpenter. A retired teacher and an electrician live across the street.
