When cut chemist was involved w the group they were pretty good. No one said they were garbage when they dropped. They made a lot of noise for That first EP and imo its a classic. I was actually just getting into and discovering "real" hip hop outside of the gangsta rap all my peers were listening to around the time that dropped.

Actually I'm remebering now that the month before I got onto J5 I had copped Commons "one day" (anyone else join the fanclub for the autographed poster and Id card?) and organized konfusions "equinox" that had dropped on the same Tuesday. Now That's precisely the day my love for real hip hop started. Had me sprung. Actually being EXCITED to go to the record store on Tuesday after studying my release date printouts from thakrib. Com. Now who remembers that site?!!

they were trying too hard to be Cold Crush or something, it didn't work IMO but a lot of hippy stupid weird college white kids love it. especially that Ozomatli shyt that Chali 2na was a part of. i remember seeing that video every fukking day back when i had cable

Man every time I went to the Good Life I hoped the Unity Committee would perform so I could see Chali 2na perform. Dude had that voice, flow and stage presence.

As for Jurassic 5, they made dope 12's but their albums were overall.

They were more barbershop quartet than Cold Crush Brothers or Fearless Four. They weren't aggressive enough besides 2na, unlike LONS or Freestyle Fellowship.

They have a few cool song, I wouldn't say they are great tho. Cool tho. They are getting unfair hate in here.

True they are getting unfair hate but they had no swag and were corn for the most part. I don't necessarily mind corn if it's good corn. They made quite few dope singles along with a dope ep but when they got to Capital they got pimped out to be this swagless throwback group. Which in part got them some of the most annoying fans.

Saying all that...they are still far from garbage.
