how great of an mc is raekwon?

i ask this for a couple of reasons
post only built 4 cuban linx, raekwon has never put forth even a decent album, fukk even comin' close to linx
his releases post cuban linx have all been neither here nor there; no hate just callin' for what it is
the sequel to link was ok but memorable?
ghost went on to have quite an extraordinary career with a number of albums people love
raekwon on the other hand?
don't get me wrong, rae be spittin' and still do but i often wonder how great of an mc he is?
i'm just curious to know what y'all think?

To me he's a great MC, he's subtle but lyrically he can bring it and content wise too and how he puts words together, he's raw. I rate him highly, would be within a top 30 of a list I believe to me.

might not be his voice but his energy level at least...like up until 2000ish he kinda yelled his shyt more...but nowadays he is a consistent low to an almost whisper voice.

yeah i made this thread because outside of only built 4 cuban linx, what other releases do people really talk about?
it makes me wonder just how ghost and rza played apart in only built.
don't get me wrong, raekwon showed his ass on the album but i wonder how great of an mc he is because no other album of his is really all that interestin'

it was ok but i hardly ever revisit that album. i wouldn't call it memorable

just goes to show you how important ghost AND rza were important for only built too!

the wackness of today's music makes Rae's shyt sound better...like Immobilarity aint all that bad to me anymore....but coming after Cuban Linx i can see how it was a huge letdown...now it gets to stand on its own...i liked the Lex Diamond album too minus a few tracks. Rae just works better in a team.

it has some joints on it

Cuban Linx 2 is a classic to me: New Wu, Gihad, Black Mozart, Flying Daggers, Pyrex Vision, 10 Bricks, Ason Jones are bangers. You really need to revisit that album. Shaolin vs Wu-Tang was great too.

The other albums are subpar to me, mainly because of the bad production.
