Or should i say recommend.

Im seeing it should be 20 inches off the floor to bottom tv, but that looks hella low, plus my cielings are like 10 feet.

Anyone mount there 85 inch tve 20 inches from the floor and it look ok?

I mounted on a 30 inch cabinet. Sort of A temporary situation. The screen is slightly high. It really depends on your space, distance of your couch and ceiling height.

Try to blue tape the outline of the screen first. If you like it, that’s all that matters.

I’m an audio video tech installer. We do it all and it comes down to distance from tv wall.
I personally have an 85 Sony Bravia 4K and I recommend most living room set up wall mounts to be anywhere from 34-38 inches from floor to bottom barring your couch is incredibly close to the wall (in which case an 85 is too large for the proper distance to enjoy, but some ppl have a preferred preference).
The standard distance is typically 75 inch TVs (7-10 feet) and 85 inch TVs (8-12 feet). Longer is fine but that’s the minimum recommendation.

Whoever is putting an 85 inch 20 feet off the ground to me is doing a disservice to your neck/eye comfort level which is how we explain it.

I have a 65" TV, and it's on my mantle, which is like 4 or 4.5' off the ground. I actually like that height and it's not straining my neck or anything.

Bottom of your TV is 48”- 54” high?

My 65” is on stand that’s about 24” high so my head is level with the middle of the screen

So I just measured and my couch is 11 feet away from the screen… eye level is about 43 inches off the ground, what do u recommend the bottom of the tv be? And what do u mean 34-38 from floor to bottom barring your couch?
