So I think most of us have watched Showtime's documentary on Allen Iverson.
And everyone knows how great a player he was.
But I guess at the time of his career I didn't realize how impactful and influential Allen Iverson was.
If you saw the documentary, they sure made it seem like he was largely responsible for bringing hip-hop culture to the forefront of the NBA.
His braids, his style of dress, the way he looked on the court...his tattoos.....(and was anyone wearing those sleeves before Iverson?)
Does AI deserve more credit for being a cultural/stylistic icon? Or did the documentary overstate his impact?
