What's she right or wrong about? She barely says anything. From what I understand (I didn't see the presser) today she admitted the social distancing thing hurt the economy. I haven't seen any reports saying she said that everyone can go back to work "soon." Maybe I'm wrong, correct me if I am.

End of the day, Trump doesn't determine when people go back to work. Governors do. CA's schools will be closed until May, and will likely be closed even further than that. NY isn't opening up anytime soon. Those two states alone kill any chance of us returning to normal and "saving" the economy from ruin.

Now what Trump could do is restrict access to tests and cut off federal aide to states that don't get back to work. That would be a disaster and backfire on him. He owns this. There is no quick fix. He's constantly looking for one, which is why he kept peddling the medication bullshyt even after Fauci shat on it. He wants a miracle. There won't be one. The Surgeon General today said that this upcoming week will be bad. The week after will be bad too, guys. This isn't stopping simply because the WH set up an arbitrary date to re-access progress.

I'm just basing it on history. The US' current trajectory for this virus is worse than China and Italy. Things are going to continue getting bad. Trump wants to reopen things, and if republican governors go through with it the numbers are going to be even worse. Given that democrats control CA and NY, and both states are probably doing the best right now in terms of response...and both states run the US economy...it's safe to say the economy is going to be fukked for awhile. Bad economy, recession, people dying, hospitals overrun, and a president who is incapable of addressing any of it...he's fukked. We're just at the tip of the iceberg man.

He's screwed either way but he could chose the way that saves lives. It's quite clear that orders from the top are never going to come down to shutter the country for the two weeks. He's going to continue letting governors do as they please where the blue state ones shut down and the red state ones mostly are business as usual.

Again this is the price this country pays for electing Trump as president. It's unfortunate people have to die because of it.

I agree that China is the main culprit and needs to be held accountable for not doing enough to contain the virus and warn others.

but the question is based on grading Trumps *response* to the crisis which given his initial response downplaying the crisis, the outburst and blaming the reporters and news outlets, calling the Coronavirus the *Chinese* virus, giving false and misleading info regarding vaccines to help treat those effected, his obsession with the stock market when ppl are dying, and now him telling ppl he wants them to ignore the precautions in the next couple of days especially when this doesn’t seem to be close to over baffles any rationale human why any ppl *approve* of how he’s handled this.
