I was homeless when I was 6 in the middle of winter, in the worst parts of the city I'm from. This shyt is light work for me.

Fred.

No wonder u was telling bro to man up in the other thread :wow:

I'm with u. I came up hard without nothing. As the old saying goes, if you're sleeping on the floor, you cant fall out the bed.

The way I came up forged me into a person that can survive on the bare necessities

you'll be fine

If you grew up poor ,you know what survive-mode is. You can fall back into that when you need to.

I got some money saved up. I know a gang of people that lost their jobs. I know people still working. I know people working from home. I know people donating blood to buy groceries.

It is what it is. It's serious and very fukked up but things will eventually get better.

And nah....it don't seem like many people on here struggled. Cats on here spent years talking about they're in the hood or from the hood or grew up poor....one week of this shyt and they're acting like the god damn world is ending.

Fred.

I agree.

I just came a long way from working at McDonald's living in north philly to where I am now.

I always feared of moving back to my grandmas house and hitting rock bottom even without the rona.

I just got to have more faith in myself.

I've been doing well since finishing college and I am 32 now.

It's just the anxiety playing tricks on me making everything seem worse than it is honestly.

I am holding up well. I know how fragile society is and have had ample time to mentally prepare for it. I am just keeping social distance and helping out family member who are vulnerable by getting their groceries. Times like these aren't an excuse to have mental breakdowns. You pull yourself up and help yourself and others.

All jokes aside, to anybody struggling with this....it's not gonna last forever. If you all survive (and statistically speaking, you will....the odds are overwhelmingly in your favor) you will have a new appreciation for everything. Even something simple as going to the mall, or out to eat. So look at it like that. Sometimes you gotta lose a few things to understand what you got.

It's actually helping a lot. The slowed down workflow and extra time has allowed me to re-commit to self-care, clean eating, catching up on reading/calligraphy work, and investing. Obviously this all changes if I or someone I know gets sick or if I lose my job.

This isn't true overall tbh. Just like 911 or any other situation most will get back to whatever they were doing previously after awhile. Most people before this didn't care about simple things like going to a mall and the like unless they were on borrowed time or something like, that.

I’m glad you rose up out of that breh

I greatly appreciate this post breh.

I don't really talk about my past on here because #1 I don't want to come across as "woe is me" and #2 there's no context for me to randomly talk about it....but I've been through some terrible, terrible shyt. But at the same time I'm thankful for it because it made me stronger as a person. Plus life has been relatively fine for close to 20 years....so I can't complain.

I hope all is well for you, fam.

That's what I'm saying man. Now people are like :damn: "I wanna go to the fukking mall."

People will appreciate far more simple things in life, after this. For a bit, anyway. But humans are nothing if not forgetful.
