How is Dr. Dre's mixing so much better than everybody else's?

I have this weird thing where my brain associates every specific note or sound with the spectrum of colors, to the point where I can identify a bunch of albums' overall sound just by identifying a color. Like the Infamous to me is a mostly indigo/purple album, The Chronic is yellow/sepia tones, etc.

Your a synsethete breh....:ohhh:

I'm not, but when I mix, I assign colour to tone ...

Who's the guy credited for showing him his way around an SSL board?

Chris "The Glove" Taylor
I still cant get over the fact that Chris and others produced most of Dre's shyt. All respect to Dre and all but he's just a great composer/mixer with a incredible ear for other peoples beats.

I remember reading something Em said about Dre every track and sound he has is already EQd when he puts it in the MP and puts it through the board to mix so when he's mixing he's refining even more and getting the maximum out of each sound that he can. Plus I remember hearing that Dre wanted to mix that space album in 5.1 which is rare for a music project that I know of. Too bad that never happened.

I think Dre said that when he was getting interviewed by scratch magazine.
