I was thinking about this the other day, and I was wondering how blacks get stereotyped as being delinquents by whites when it's the Mexicans/Latin Americans that are running the drug trade. I understand there are black gangs and what not but the level of brutality is nowhere near the cartels level of brutality. My friend showed me a video of what the Mexican Cartels do and they do some truly horrific things to people possibly even worse than slavery. So my question to you all is why is it that Blacks are stereotyped by whites (from my experience) as being the worse of the worse if this couldn't be any further from the truth

Because on a street level, drugs seem to be largely sold by black people. Or at least, that seemed to be the case in the 60s and 70s with heroin, and the 1980s and 90s with crack/cocaine.
But the higher you move up the trail....wholesalers, transporters...it seems to get largely more latino/white. Especially when it comes to the politicians, lawyers and judges that allow the drugs to filter on to the street.
At least, that's my theory. Don't hold me to it. It's not like I took the time to back it up right now.
When it comes to abusing drugs, I'm pretty sure that study after study has shown that black people are statistically less likely to use drugs in the 1st place. Much less than whites.

Actor Michael Douglas' son was busted for running a drug ring and got 10 years. I don't know how mainstream this news was, but I would suspect that not very many people are aware of this.
The kid was facing 10 years in prison, and it looks like he'll do a lot less than that.

The Olson twins were at least partially responsible for the drugs that killed actor Heath Ledger. Does anyone associate them with drugs? Probably not.
Do people associate Brittany Murphy with drug abuse or Clueless? I rest my case.
If a white person gets mixed up in drugs or dies from it...it's a tragedy and a push gets made publicly to address addiction and change the laws.

You mean black actors who've been mixed up in drugs and have been given a pass....or had their deaths as a result of drug abuse glossed over?
None readily come to mind.
But maybe black actors who rise to a certain level of fame have to be twice as clean as anyone else to get there in the 1st place.

Chappelle was called crazy and on drugs when he left his tv show.
I don't think it's controversial to say that minorities are held to a different standard even when it comes to celebrities.
