Why do peeps move the goal posts to not give TNA props on Joe specifically? Is the TNA name scorched earth here because they get props for nothing nowadays. Yep ROH laid the foundation with Joe but in general he's known as a TNA guy outside of hardcores. I knew Sting was there and I got hooked on TNA/started watching because of Joe. They booked him like a killer when I started following them, they bobbled him horribly after his first loss to angle with shaky ass booking over the years but still. Come on
Its on a smaller scale a lot like how WWF is credited for quite a few things that originated /got their start in the AWA.

Pretty sure that had to do with the nature of the deal first struck with the WWE where he wouldn't sign fully to the E but could still do indy gigs on the side, hence him keeping his name.
But yet with the 2 of them in tna they couldn't tour or sell merchandise so no

Joe was booked as a god in TNA when he came on the scene. Joe had a lot of buzz in ROH but they were still indy then. Angle vs Joe is what made Joe. Daniels vs Styles vs Joe made Joe. Joe had buzz before coming into ROH because of his time in Zero One too. Its the whole reason they even brought him in. But were just splitting hairs here.

Well TNA did 60,000 PPV buys with the first Joe vs Angle face off.
I think TNA's problem is that they took all the momentum they had with a passionate fanbase who was starting to spend money on the product and then flipped it to Russo/Bischoff/Hogan and became fascinated with ratings.....but killed the hardcore passion of the people who would spend money on it.
They traded building a real, different thing from the ground up slowly over time for a formica furnature rental from Rent a Center that looked good for awhile then looks like something from the worst flea market in some bumbleweed backwater. Then...all the passion was gone, and the ratings leaked down too.
That said, building up #2 ain't easy, and it is easy to see everything in hindsight, though I was mad at the time they complete dumped everything over trying to turn AJ Styles into Ric Flair JR and screwed up a great Storm vs Roode....killed the tag team division that was GREAT.
