He should get in off GOAT hairline/beard lineup combo alone :wow:

that hairline was already exposed on here as being a product of black ice.

that 3.9 career YPC :scust:

id prefer if he didn't, good player but really just piled up stats over years. not what I think of when I think of HOF

8 1000+ seasons...6 pro bowls as a running back? Even if he never had any truly spectacular seasons, that type of longevity still deserves to be rewarded...especially considering the position he played and the way he ran (took a ton of hits).

Comparable to Thurman Thomas, or John Riggins, who are both in.

Considering what you may consider his "era" though, there are a couple backs I'd rather have on my team.

But also, consider the fact that the way the game seems to be evolving, his numbers will hold up over time a lot better.
Bettis' numbers were NEVER as good as Thurman Thomas'. NEVER. Thurman Thomas was what a lot of the 90s babies think Marshall Faulk and LT originated.

John Riggins is a fringe HOFer, imo. I think he got in because he had iconic moments.

Since when is longevity a negative? You'd think playing at a high level over a number of years is something to be in the positive column..? Do you draft a guy and think "dang I'd rather he be the best in the league for 2 years than be top 5 for a decade" ? Hell no

that's fair, he was force-fed a lot of years. im not saying he wasn't an impactful player, but hall? im on the fence

And look at some of the QB's he played with in his prime. Defenses sure as hell weren't fearing the likes of Mike Tomczak, Kordell Stewart, or the immortal Kent Graham:scust:

Roly poly motherfukker left the state and became a golden domer so he was dead in my eyes off of that alone. He went to the same high school as my mom. Golden Tate is the only ND person I stan and once he's gone from the Lions, its :pacspit: to him too.

yeah its always hard with guys like bettis...because i see guys that are in the hof that i think bettis is better than. and then i see guys better than bettis that i wouldnt put in the hall.

so i agree he's definitely fringe. i give him the edge because its the "hall of fame". The Bus was essentially the face of the franchise for the 8 or so years before RapeHerBurger got there. he was pretty much a household name throughout the country. i think things like that should be appreciated. i wont but a ton of stock into stuff like that...but if i have 2 players with equal stats, one more famous than the other, then i will always put the more famous one in first because they deserve it more for what they've done for the game off the field.

Ehh.... never led the league in rushing, sub 4.0ypc. I think he'd be a shoo in to the Hall of Very Good. I will admit that he should get kudos for the duration of his career and his effectiveness.

Who in the hall of fame is Jerome better than in your opinion? Hall of Famers like Marshsll or Curtis Martin perhaps.

I guess he deserves to be in based on longevity and whatnot. He did have 8 1000 plus yard seasons and he has a ring. So I think it is a no brainer that eventually he will be in the Hall. He may not have been great but he was very good for a long time just like Curtis Martin.
