How is Jimmy Clausen still on a roster?

But damn did he suck that bad his rookie season that he couldnt get a chance on a franchise like the Bills or Cardinals to compete for a starting spot. How did Clausen go from the next big thing in high school to a decent but not legendary college career to 2nd round pick with starter potential. Now he cant' even get a team to trade a late round pick for him to give him a chance. I hope the same fate does not await Matt Barkley who has followed a similar path and was the last big time celebrity college QB recruit after Jimmy.

Cam has been the starter since 2011....why would he have gotten any snaps?
with your dumbass logic, Derek Anderson shouldn't be on the team either... cause he's only thrown 4 passes since 2010

Clausen was so much more dominant than his HS counterparts, cause he was groomed to be a QB...and had an insanely higher football IQ than most HS players.
The main knock on him coming out of college, was that he pretty much already hit his ceiling for potential....you dont remember that?

all im saying is he is a 3rd string backup,why havent they cut him. Derek Anderson is the backup so I can see him being on the team,fact they have Clausen at #3 and more then likely he wont get playing time unless its in a pre season game or forbid Cam and Derek gets hurt makes no sense.Panthers have a new GM and Clausen was an pick from the old regime.They can cut him and save $$.
