Pusha T says a whole lot of nothing, like Rick Ross. he has no imagery, his word play is basic as fukk. his flow is one dimensional and his voice is terrible. he spits liek the shyt he is saying is actually nice which makes it worse. he has the most contrived drug verses. I could go on.

Always wondered this too. If other people don't like the same music as I do, I don't sweat it....I just don't understand the hate that Push gets.

Because 90% of this board have got Wayne's dikk in their mouths :scusthov:

pusha t is amazing

when the clipse had the we got it for cheap tapes everyone was leaning towards push..even the industry was thats why he was on more features than malice was

now suddenly hes wack :usure: nikkas are funny on here

Well thats the whole point.

He's not "Wack", and he's better lyrically than 95% of mainstream rappers. But the fact that there's no consistency is what bothers me personally. At one point he was my favorite rapper. But the fact that those 2 mixtapes are trash got him leveled. You got young dudes like Big KRIT and Nipsey Hussle (Im using those 2 as a template because they all came out at about the same time mixtape wise) and putting out better quality sounding tapes, better videos, and more original content. Then you have seasoned guys that still didn't get the same push as himself like Currensy, who's not "young", and putting out music that someone of his caliber should. Thats whats so frustrating. Because he has the connections and "money" for a Harry Fraud or Alchemist or etc...to do the whole tape, but chooses to rhyme over a non-CDQ instrumental of "money on my mind". GTFO wit that bullshyt. The nikka rapped over "Speakers going hammer" for crying out fukking loud :what:

Those tapes didn't live up to his shyt-talking, and the time it took for them to get out. So thats why I would assume people are talking shyt now, cause lets face it: DUDE DIDNT DELIVER.

Its clear as day he needs Malice & Pharrell, and vice versa.

I never said Push wasn't nice, but like i said earlier, he's pushing 40 and has no real stability or pull with his own career. Everything he does is to please execs at this point because he has no leverage. He's been pigeonholed into a B level feature rapper. Yes, long time Clipse fans will always check for Push because of his record. At the end of the day tho, Push is pandering to the same hipster/pseudo hip hop head/ internet blog type crowd he claims he doesn't make music for. Push is extremely witty and has classic lines but that's not enough for me to go to bat for him. He is at the mercy of whoever wants to do a feature and whoever will do a feature for him.

His album will either be flames or lackluster. IMO Fear of God with one or two extra tracks would've been a classic album. Pusha T is the rap game's New York Knicks. Always has been close enough to be a Champion but contempt with the fact that he gets to play in the league....and sometimes make it in a Finals round every now and then. He's had some big scores on some of the best tracks from 2010 - 2012 but he just never follows up. He's just thinks he can coast when he's not in that position. None of his solo songs he dropped did anything except buzz for a few days then fade into oblivion. Nobody is playing his new shyt like that. I feel like he's trying to get a hot single to promote himself but somebody needs to tell Push he's not that type of rapper and will never be. He's not a Billboard guy and never will be. His core fans that appreciate him for who he is will be better served if he just steadily builds his own catalog and consistently keeps strengthening his own brand. The reason Push is not where he could be is because there is no identifiable Pusha T brand.

Yes, we know he's one half of the Clipse and a noted VA drug dealer who has proved himself in a duo with his brother. He's a pretty dope MC too by himself, but he hasn't taken the time to cultivate that solo brand. Rappers need to understand that dropping mixtapes isn't branding. Every other MC in the game now is talking about coke today. While Push may have been one of the pioneers of intellectual coke rap, there are a dozen other rappers who are talking about pyrex dishes, birds flying and the moral uncertainty of the game. They may not be as skilled as him, but it's enough saturation to make what he says forgettable when it comes to the bigger picture. Even if MNIMN is a solid 3-4.5, do you really think that he will do the numbers to solidify his position?

Think about this, Kendrick's control verse was aimed at rappers in the age range of 24-27, except Push who is 10 years older than all of them. How do you look being mentioned with a whole bunch of new nikkas? It looks like you never graduated. The game does have levels. Push has been on the same level since 2000 except he's acting like he's risen so far. He should be eye level with Ye and on the heels of Hov'. I never hear him in anybody's top lists much less mentioned in GOAT convos. He's old enough and has enough time in to be there but he simply hasn't earned it and now it's transparent. No matter how nice the verse or line is, I still see him as an underachiever. You don't get a pass to be a slacker from me just because you rap. If I knew someone over 10 years and they never moved up in life I'd stop fukking with them. How many intelligent people do you know that just can't seem to get it together and you don't wanna be around them. You don't wanna hear the shyt he's "about to do'. nikka, what have you done since High School?

This isn't about his talent, he can spit....this is about growth....and the only thing that nikka barely make sure he grows is those struggle braids.

Now this is something I can agree with. the fear of god should have been what the offical version was. you take the best songs from both those projects and you have a solid 1st solo project

Pusha is a beast but I think he falls in that category like Jadakiss and Ludacris. Where he kills shyt of features and on other people's beats but I don't know how great a solo album from his would sound. Though I will support his album if it drops in October.
