I, for no other reason other than being completely behind and out of touch with all the latest and greatest in sports and entertainment, have never sensed any c00n in Stephen A.'s behavior, nor heard any c00n sentiments spoken by him.
As a matter of fact, I always held the exact opposite impression of him and always gave him praise for "holding it down for Black issues" on ESPN. I clearly can recall him, on more than one occasion, praising and touting Winston Salem State University (his HBCU alma mater) and highlighting any strides they made. He also made it a habit to just talk about or highlight HBCUs in general. Any chance he got too.
I also remember him clowning the shyt outa some other Black male host (can't remember his name but he was tall, soft spoken, and skip used to always bytch him down) for not speaking out against some racist issue. Stephen A. was mad at him and said as much, right then and there on the air, when he said that he felt like he had to "hold it down for the Black community", so to speak, since the other dude was too scared to speak the truth.
