Because they brought the stock when it was worthless, only way stocks can go up is if people buy shares

So yes its a possibility can buy now and still make money, put only if these people choose to hold onto their shares, because when they decide to sell all of them the Stock Price will go all the way back down, and the people who just brought in will lose everything

well its a good thing you didnt.. Robinhood, at least on my end, has blocked purchasing of calls over $200 (can buy calls under $200 and puts, but its just blank on all months and calls for $200+).

I checked AMC and BB and can still buy calls for those, but the call section over $200 on GME is removed on Robinhood
