Im gonna say the primary factor is that they actually have to do some activity at some point in the day. A lot of Americans sit in their car, sit at work, and then go home and sit on the couch until it’s time to lay in bed and start over. You can get your steps in just doing daily life out there. There isn’t a culture of sitting on your ass all day. Even the otaku jrehs get up to hit the manga store and see what’s new.

Think about when you go to the park or the mall and there’s hella mobility scooters. Some Americans are at the point of no return. I been out there a few times and didn’t see not one scooter or loose belly.

They do t eat as much junk food with the additional sugars, especially.

Also they do have lots of carbs, diabetics is on the rise there due to being less mobile. But they also have lots of fresher food with better portion sizes.

But the older generation are fatter. Generally fat shaming is a thing there too.

Carbs aren’t the thing making ppl fat

Being sedentary and eating over your body’s energy needs makes you fat.

Nothing wrong with rice when you’re active and your body uses that glucose

Plenty of office workers in Japan breh.

Walkability in cities and neighborhoods along with public transportation is also key. I just spent the first two weeks of June kicking it in Barcelona. The fat people I saw out there were mainly tourists. Most people were in shape, which was refreshing to see. I also learned that Spain is rated the healthiest country in the world due to their Mediterranean diet.

I came back home, looked around, and immediately hit the :snoop:

:flabbynsick:Americans are literally killing themselves with every trip to Applebees. Shyt is pathetic.

Anybody here try the Mediterranean diet? What would you typically eat?

was stationed in Japan for a few years..

They walk everywhere, it’s hot and humid (more calories lost) & they eat way healthier. It ain’t rocket science
......and their healthy food doesn't have a bunch of crap in it like ours.

Hell you can drink water all day in the U.S. and end up full of microplastics.

Then you gotta throw in genetics because ours (America) are very diverse while Japanese people and most East Asians in general can't carry around much weight...plus they have less dense bones.
