With word that MMG is moving to Atlantic in part because the label has lost money, I'm starting to really question Ross' business acumen. There's no question he's a good marketer - look at his image lol - and makes a lot of paper at shows. But he seems to be spending money like it's 1997 while his label isn't selling records like that. GFID is close to gold but I think it's fair to say the album was not the success Ross needed or expected coming off Teflon Don's success.
Wale went gold, Meek will probably stall around 350k. Stalley...probably wouldn't sell 100k albums. So why the fukk did he sign him? Stalley is a mixtape rapper at best, who can make decent money off digital releases maybe. IE he should have signed with Jet Life. At least then he'd be rapping over mellow beats, touring with people who actually appreciate his vibe of music, etc. He doesn't fit with MMG
And neither does Rockie Fresh tbh. I dunno what Ross is doing outside of wasting money...
