When i lend people money i do it with the expectation that i will not ever get it back. I only lend money out that i can afford never to see again, that avoids all these holding grudges etc. And when i get it back its a bonus. I dont even ask for my money back once i lend it.
I recently gave money to a former co-worker who was in a bind he was even offering to sign all types of contracts etc. I gave him money on good faith but then the repayment schedule kept stretching out until he "forgot"
had to confront him and he repaid the money then asked me to borrow some more less than 2 weeks later. I offered the nikka paying work instead and he turned it down. That's 2 strikes already. He won't get my hand again. Dude got laid off in the summer and has been slacking on finding work but he's always talking about we should go to the club
