How long do you usually give a game before you bush it?

If I buy a large AAA game I'll know whether I'll stick with it after about 10-15 hours. If I'm trying something on PS+/Gamepass it could be as little as 30 minutes, but in those scenarios you're kinda just trying random shyt vs doing a ton of research on a game before buying

honestly getting physicals off Amazon with their return policy is super clutch. You get like at least a month to return it so you always have that option if you want to try a game on sale and end up not liking it

I think the last game I truly dropped was Nioh after like 20 hours - I got tired of sweating.

But that was like 7 years ago, I appreciate Souls/Soulslikes alot more now post-Elden Ring. I'll revisit eventually.

Outside of that, if I'm confident enough to buy it, I'm seeing it through 99% of the time.

after about two hours, I know if I like it or not

I was playing remnant and as Im playing it and I felt my mood getting worse

someone here said it before, and its true; there isn't a reason to play mediocre games

I played remnant 2, the one everyone was going crazy about for like two hours maybe. I never wanted to play it again after that

the older yo get the more you just have to trust your own instincts on games

If it doesn't capture my attention on my first play, I will probably not ever go back to it. Maybe an hour

Last game I dropped was Forspoken and I gave it a good 8 hours because it was open world. Prolly knew 3 hours in that it wasnt it but I wanted to see if the combat opened up. It was bullet sponge hell and the combat wasn't rewarding....bushes

I'm on a pretty good streak of finishing games I've actually bought. Much easier to bush something you didn't pay for

Depends. If the game has a mechanic I don't like, I'm dropping it immediately. BotW was probably the quickest I dropped a game because of the terrible durability mechanic. Sword of Ditto is another one I dropped pretty quickly as well :camby: :camby: :camby:

According to the starfield thread, it take most yall 20 hrs minimum.

It depends on how much I spent on the game.

If its under 10 dollars, I give it around 4 hrs. If it doesn't grab me, I take months to finish it.

Full price games. I never by full price unless I've already played the game or seen hours of playthroughs. Cyberpunk, DragonAge, Harry games were the exceptions. I put 60 hrs in DragonAge and that was the "worst" one.

Free games/game pass. 20 minutes if that

movement controls is definitely a big factor. If i don’t like the way a game controls it goes in the garbage

its part of the reason i hate Days Gone.

Yeah, movement is going to be like 75% of what you'll be doing in over 90% of games, period. If that doesn't feel right to you, the game is going to be tough to deal with.
