depends on ya forehead lol

I have a big head so it took around 2 years of having a fro then a couple months of retwists
damn ok, this shyt goes slower than i thought. i was hoping to be able to shake them by the summer going from just a straight afro.

i shouldn’t have cut my afro before but my shyt got pushed back and was looking crazy so i did back when i was 19

Nah, it's definitely a process but you'll probably be shocked at how fast they grow. My nikka is on his 4th time trying them and he's back at his original length after a few years.

It's why so many rappers get hair extensions

yeah the starting process takes a bit of time but honestly like most have said in here, locs grow exponentially after a certain point and retwisting them helps.

I got a fairly big afro too but looking to just get straightbacks by next summer :blessed:

My hair was this long when I got my hair comb coiled to start my locs

It took my locs 1.5 -2 years to get that visible length back(drop). But my hair grows slow.

Also comb coils, which is the method I started mine with, gives you an appearance that makes your hair shrink and it somewhat does because they’re “ringlets”.

I passed my collarbone at about 2.5ish years. I’d expect that length future has maybe for me at year 5ish maybe. Again my hair grows slow.

Hope that helps. Also, Im a woman.

I find men seem to grow their hair faster bc they leave it alone for the most part and don’t put 509 products in their hair.
