And this stigmatizing bullshyt is exactly why mental illness is so prevalent in the black community and runs wild unchecked due to idiots wanting to vilify folks with issues making them afraid to seek help for it. First part of healing mental illness, addictions etc is to call it out, and if folks wanna go public with it to deal with it, oh the fukk well. We all know hella ppl with mental illness, then you fake motherfukkers wanna show fake love when they act out in a way that either causes them to end their life or be put away in prison. Just shut the fukk up because if anything's corny, it's you pea brained fukks with uneducated opinions and faux machismo about the shyt. FOH, everyone's such a nihilistic hard ass on the web and it's more annoying than anything else.
bruh...Shawn can do all that shyt without asking for attention and sympathy.

Just the same as any regular person can handle their biz w/o going around telling everybody they have "mental health issues".

Not just rappers either. Being black alone leads to several layers of trauma. Most of the blacks packed in prisons are mentally ill people who lash out without help, but no one wants to talk about that because A. Cacs love locking us up and B. Other blacks consider it "soft" or "white people problems", even though we experience hella more trauma from day one.
A significant amount of black people suffer from mental illness and don't know it. Thats white America's greatest secret. Years of slavery and mistreatment has fukked up the black person's psysche in general.

When did he ever ask for sympathy? He simply explaining how he feeling.
That's that indoctrinated slave mentality breh. Blacks have been conditioned to just act like mental illness isn't "our problem" and to vilify or ostracize those who have it and make it known. ....and nikkas wonder why so many of us end up falling out due to heart disease or hypertension. Mental health affects physical health too, if you don't get help and get to managing/healing your stresses, pains, anger, anxiety etc, it takes a major toll on your body as well as the mind. It's not just about diet.

because people using this shyt as a way to get free press.

All you gotta say is "mental health issues" and you'll get a 30min special about how hard life is for you being a famous mulitmillionaire.
Some people definitely abuse their mental health issues for clout/attention/fame/money, but not everyone uses it as a pass for those things. And to be clear, I don't have a Big Sean song in my music library unless it's a guest verse on something else. I'm not a Big Sean fan. At all. I don't think he's wack, but I think he's average as hell.

But I just wanted to reply, because I don't think being a millionaire means you're not able to have a lot of struggles in life. At the same time, I don't expect people to feel sympathy for millionaires. But money definitely doesn't fix mental health problems. In many cases it can make them worse.

I think a lot of people throw out mental health stuff these days, because more people than ever legitimately are struggling with mental health issues. Especially over the past year with this pandemic. My mentor just killed himself right before Thanksgiving last year. Therapists and psychiatrists have been busy as shyt dealing with way more cases of depression, anxiety, and suicide rates have also risen significantly.

Getting laid isn’t going to fix serious depression issues
Yep. It can feel relieving at first, but in the long run make it worse if that's your escape. If people with certain personalities or a genetic history of addiction start trying to self-medicate and escape their problems with booze, drugs, p*ssy, gambling, etc, that's often how they become full-blown addicts.

Rich AND Famous people crying about they life on some depression shyt is annoying as fukk to regular people idk why they expect sympathy

Well for one, rich and famous people breathe the same air we do, but secondly "regular" people can't envision the fact that being rich and famous isn't some cure for depression. There is a LONG list of issues that cant be overcome by money or fame, and there is a long list of issues caused by money and fame. If you've never had either money or fame, you may not be able to grasp that. But, once you realize that you will be able to sympathize even with the wealthiest of the wealthiest just as a human being.

Why do people think this is some profound statement?

You know what rich people also have; MONEY, RESOURCES & TIME to deal with their depression.

It's not crazy regular people don't wanna hear Draymond Green complain about the media or Big Sean about his depression and anixety.

Right or wrong, it's not crazy to see why people look at it like that.
