This should honestly already be in development now, but knowing these game companies and how they bird feed and take advantage of gamers, it'll be PS6 or PS7 even

But there's about to be no reason to continually bring in announcers to record commentary for baseball, basketball and football games. Just train an AI voice model to sound like Kirk Herbstreit or Kevin Harlan, then at that point, the commentary is literally ENDLESS and super dynamic bc it's AI connected to the internet.

Or, go the NFL 2K5 route and have your own in-house commentary, but instead of using voice actors like that game did, just develop your own AI play-by-play person.

On another note, I hope GTA 6 does something like allow you to connect to your Spotify or YT Music account instead using a limited # of in game songs

It's coming. :manny: The next big jump & revolution in gaming won't be graphics or scope, it'll be artificial intelligence. Once they implement it on NPCs in open world, it's over. Sucks for VA's, though.
I feel like the more serious games people are going to get super fickle without premier voice actors, of course they could still ai their voices (why do we keep saying artificial intelligence when the machine doesn't think for themselves in any capacity, it's more like algorithmic input imo) but the gaming industry is as pressed about the product as the comic book space so I think we'll see a lot of ai in the usual suspects and indie gaming but anything like a god of war or last of us would be better off with actual people.

The always-online force feeding was always a play for in-game live ads from the start. Add in platform accounts tied to social media handles, now you're driving around GTA 6 and seeing billboards with ads for something your kids searched for in Google on your phone.

Not. even. once. :hubie:

Sports games adapting to how you play (if you keep calling the same shyt, using go to moves), crowd noises. just a few I can think of off the top of my head.
That's not the AI in the sense of what I'm referring to. That's just normal game programming.

I'm talking about AI like what's come out over the past 2 yrs. What I'm referring to is not something locked into the existing build code.
