at Bron being the best since '05, he didn't up his impact or wasn't a major defensive player until '09 (which started him being the best player in the NBA)

at Kobe being the best since '01, he wasn't even the best player on his own team until 2005 (which he could've been the best that year had it not been his worst prime season of his career). '06-'08 Kobe had it on lock due to insane offensive output and being great defensively again in '08 (had something to play D for and deserved that MVP).
3. KD was a monster in that RS in '14 but didn't match it in the playoffs and was not as good as Bron in those playoffs (while Bron still facing better defensive teams and better teams overall, both faced Spurs but '14 Pacers > any West team Durant faced).
4. Curry just like Bron (Bron in '09 that is), is not getting due credit from casuals for what he did last season b/c he was the up and comer and Bron is the guy who's been in the league a while. Curry was the MVP and easily and the most consistent while being the best in the post-season.
