Yea I think people need to kill this mindset of blaming the champion for all of the WWE's ratings and financial woes. If the champion isn't over it's probably because the fed isn't over.
And let's be honest with ourselves what does being the WWE champion in 2014 really mean? The belt is on the line anywhere from 10-12 times a year and they hand out title shots like they're promotional flyers. It's not the same as it used to be where the belt meant something and the champion basically represented the brand.

wwe is more popular than MMA; there is no question about that.
And IDK if hardcore ran off casuals; in fact I somewhat disagree...but they CAN change and influence what the casuals GET. Their minority voice is louder than the casual and young majority. Thats fair and very true R=G but we both know if the exact same thing happened, and the belt was on orton or anyone else they would be buried on here. The inconsistancies with how bryan is, and how punk WAS treated is evident. The same way that bad crowds give crickets to ALL of our favorites, but only orton is known as CDQ.

Can u even say he had a bad run with the belt? Can you even really call it a run? He headlined a total of ONE PPV with it, and because it wasn't against someone they wanted it to be, everybody started talking about how terrible his "run" was. Then, he ends up injured and has to have the title taken from him in storyline. Now, to some of y'all, he's the reason WWE lost so much money and a "failed" top guy, after all of 6 weeks as champion.
Even if his "run" went better, I knew tunes were gonna change after Mania. That night was destined to be the peak of DBMania, and just like Punk, half of the people who wanted to see it happen switched up almost overnight. That IWC never fails to do exactly what is expected of them... and yet they complain of predictability.

They already are. As a whole, amongst the IWC Reigns was the least liked Shield member. Admittedly he's green, but he's nowhere near as bad as a lot cats are claiming. He's clearly going to be the Samoan Cena and "the guy" whether fans like it or not, so I'm sure that contributes to it, as well.
Yeah, that's my main gripe if they are indeed taking his character that way. I feared that from the time he had that, "Ladies, what's my name," cringe-worthy promo a couple of months back. If they want to market son as an ass kicking ladies man, he's going to fall flat on his face. He can play the bad ass, lone wolf role and he'll be fine, but if they keep up the raised eyebrows and LL Cool J lip licking, he's going to bomb when they put that title on him. They need him to appeal to casual male fans and kids. You can make it having the support of women and children and being loathed by smarks, but if the only people son is going to try to get reactions from is women, he's destined for the mid-card and Rollins/Ambrose are going to run circles around him.
