This April is gonna mark 5 years since Cardi B dropped her debut album invasion of privacy. It was a massive success in terms of sales/critical acclaim and had 2 number one singles on the billboard hot 100. But she hasn’t realeased any project since, she’s done a singles here and there but no album.

The questions I have is are you shocked at this? Like if I told you this time in 2018 she was gonna have this huge gap would you be shocked? The second question is how many albums do you see her releasing in her career? Over under 3?

There was always this idea from some people that being a rapper was never the long term goal. It was really about using hip hop to get on in the overall entertainment industry and eventually be a full time actress or day time talk show host

It’s looking like this will be the only one. Like I said in similar threads, her first album was the perfect lightning in a bottle, and both her and the label are scared to release another full length project because they know it won’t touch that one. It’s like when the WWE spent ages trying to recreate the Attitude Era. It ain’t gonna happen.
