On a total side note, how crazy is technology? Pac's mind would be blown.

I'm about to head to the gym and have my iPod strapped to my arm. While reading through this thread, I've been going :obama: :ohlawd:

So, I re-downloaded "All Eyez On Me", added it to iTunes, turned my iPod on, and synced it wirelessly so I could work out to it later. 5 minutes, tops.

I got exposed to "Me Against The World" because my big brother would play it CONSTANTLY on cassette tape while driving me to school, from school, and wherever else I needed to go. Eventually, I dubbed it. Remember DUBBING cassettes? Now we can just cop music with a click of a button.

It's a great time to be alive. :wowwow:
Lol dubbing. I remember recording off the radio and keeping that pause button on

I'm going with 1. To me Me Against the World is his only true classic.

Anyone that's listing 2pacalypse Now, I don't think heard it until after he died.

That's true in my case. I had heard probably half the album just from people playing his hits, putting them on their tapes and seeing his videos on TV, but didn't listen to the whole thing. People always said it was weak compared to the others so I figured the other half must have been trash. Listened to it after I heard people talking negatively about R U Still Down, which was also incredible, and :dwillhuh: :mindblown: :banderas:

When R U Still Down came out and was being called stale leftovers despite being fire I knew I had to go back and check the rest of his work.

Played 2Pacalypse all the way through a couple of days ago and I stand by it being a classic.

2Pacalypse weren't no joke, had a bunch of classic songs. Certainly wouldn't be mad at anyone calling it a classic. It's a very dope album at the least.

2pacolypse Now and SFMN were not and are not classics. Y'all may favour those albums personally but its not classic

Both were average albums with a handful of classic tracks, that made them overall solid LPs. Still worth listening to because it was Pac in a raw and unpolished form

The craziest thing about Pac is that he "broke out" on four consequetive albums.

Thug Life was a break out, in that he was able to front a group, take the lead on a project, put together a great album front to back, and he sounded much more confident. His flow and delivery improved and he really came into his own.

MATW was a breakout on a musical level. I don't even think I need to explain much here

AEOM was a breakout on a superstar level

Makaveli was a breakout on a level beyond music, into a pop culture icon

And he did that in 3 years, in between jail and murder attempts, all by 25

Rap God, nothing more can be said

Offline, the majority have All Eyez On Me as their favorite and its the album you still hear coming out of cars in 2014.. never hear anyone bangin' MATW or 7DT in their car.
tbh, AOEM had more "car/club" tracks tho. MATW and 7DT are shyt you listen to at home, in your headphones etc. same way you don't hear nas blasting out cars :manny:

but i agree, AOEM was its own beast when it dropped, EVERY fukkin body out here had that album, people getting that corny AEOM tatt with the eyes and everything lol.

I think if Illmatic is the "official" establishment greatest album of all time

Then AEOM is the unofficial grassroots greatest album of all time

Interesting. Yeah grassroots wise All Eyez On Me was very popular. The streets loved that album. It was a monstrous album.

This. If you wasn't from the West and of age when AEOM dropped, you really have no idea. I'd never seen an album dominate like that. 96-98 that was damn near all you heard playing out of cars and songs were still getting play on the radio.
I think AEOM is flawed as an album, but that impact was like nothing else and its clearly a classic album for just completely shutting shyt down, coast wide, for years.
