How many classic movies would you say Steven Spielberg has?

also while not considered a classic he pretty much ghost directed Poltergeist which i think is a classic. I love that movie.

i saw jaws a few months ago. it was well made. but for me a lot of the hailed flicks of the 1970s are somewhat boring. i know that may sound ignorant but many of them dragged on. Movie was a bit too long for the type of film it was imo. (2 hrs 10 min)

and i can see why people may not love hook, its really cheesy. but i was young when it came out and nostalgia is a hell of a drug. movie still makes me laugh

but how can you not love minority report!?

Idk why minority report bothered me. In fact in reference to your jaws critique, MR was way too long. Wasn't feeling the plot and just thought the movie drug on.

Jaws is a long flick but there still hasn't been a monster flick that's touched it not even JP with all its CGI. Jaws is a masterpiece especially all the shyt they went through, Spielberg almost being fired, Richard Dreyfus trashing the movie saying it would be terrible etc...actually I think jaws is the one movie that should never be shytted on. Classic music death scenes and climax.

what's cool about Minority report to me is that its one of the only films that predicted technology correctly. came out in 02 and dude was swiping, and tablets etc. inspired a lot of current tech

minority report is one of the best sci-fi flicks out there, imo. Can't see how it isn't a classic.

they are timeless,and will continue to be watched after he's gone..hes made solid films but those are without a doubt his lasting legacy when we think of his films
