The reality of this is that it's many types of herpes simplexes.

Back in the day if you were on Acyclovir or Valacyclovir ... people would automatically go "Oh God you've got herpes!" Because most of the time that is what they prescribed for a flare up.

Now they use those drugs for many things shingles, cold sores, HSV, and mono which are all herpes simplexes.

HPV has nothing to do with herpes because it's a different type of virus.

Everyone just needs to practice safe sex and get to know your partner and their sexual history before you decide it's sexy time.
