I think I said Carroll is a HOFer, didnt say he was going in first ballot or before those guys.
Not before Jimmy Johnson he sure the sh1t isn't. Before these last 2 years Carroll was known for 3 things in the NFL (besides being the baby faced super exuberant DC of Bruce Coslet):
1) Giving the choke sign to the Dolphins in a 1992 Sunday night game while DC of the Jets, upsetting Dan Marino, one of the all time greats to the nth degree, which led to moment number
2) The fake spike of 1994, which Marino was all too happy to embarrass Carroll with as a big game middle finger that he saved for 2 seasons, which led to the Jets losing their remaining 5 games including that Miami game, missed the playoffs with a bad player mutiny, which then led to his firing after 1 season as HC of the NYJ, which led to the hiring of Rich Kotite. If you are a Jet fan who had to endure '95 & '96, say thank you to Pete Carroll for Kotite. Keep in mind that Miami game was game #12 and a battle for the outright division lead.
3) Being a slice of tomato in the 80s NYG resurrection project sandwich that occurred in New England. Not to mention a tomato slice that got discarded after the 2nd or 3rd bite of said sandwich.
He's gonna need more than 1 ring to completely wash out the stink of his prior 2 tenures, and that's with more deserving candidates (the aforementioned Johnson, Tom Flores, maybe even Seifert) who should be get the call before his current resume should.
I dont think he gets in first or 2nd ballot due to the hating, but he a HOFer.

Nah Lynch is in. Superbowl would have cemented it. One more season among the top three rushers in the league will seal it as well.

My point is those guys probably won't get in if they haven't gone in by now, so unless Carroll wins another 2 or 3 he probably won't as well, and he has more black marks on his resume than the deserved guys who are being shunned.

this. U nikkas have no idea how hard it is to get in. Just because you see a bunch of current stars playing it does not mean they gonna be in the hall. The only sure ones are Brady and Beli
