listen stupid:smugfavre:, at this point they are not going anywhere with Melo and cannot upgrade the team enough to be a contender. You are paying max salaries to stay average. What's the point??

You won't get far with Melo as your #1 . That's why knicks should have kept Lin and traded Melo. He is getting older, you have to pay him more money which won't get you anywhere as a franchise. Dolan got paper though, so he cool.
. :rudy: stop discussing basketball...stick too listening to ESPN

melo fanboy :childplease: ?

you got a melo poster on top of your bed right? :skip:

What is the counter-argument to what I said about Melo?? :stopitslime:

The counter argument to what you said is that what you said is just stupid.

You think Jeremy Lin has a proven track record of being a good NBA player long enough to trade Melo for him.

Jeremy isn't even in the top 10 at his position.

Were you not even listening to what i said? I said would you rather pay luxury tax and stay mediocre or would you rather cut loose and look for another avenue?
You do realize that the Knicks are not going to get better right? :smugfavre:

From what we saw of Lin last year, the team seemed more engaged with him being the catalyst for the offense. And they were winning!!:leon:

Melo is on a max deal, 28 years old and not the ideal player you would want as your #1 option. :stopitslime:

With Melo traded for an expiring contract or a young player on the rise, the Knicks can get under cap and give itself a better chance at success in the future. :obama:

what's so hard to understand? :manny:

From what we saw of Lin last year was a small sample size that you like most of the media and the Rockets are giving way too much props for. fukk all of that short lived success. Melo is a much more proven commodity than Lin and more than likely will be so for Lin's career. It's up to the Knicks to put the necessary pieces around Melo to succeed, yet you want to give the 20+ game sample size Lin showcased with the Knicks top priority alongside a more proven commodity than Melo.

Screw all that. This conversation will be moot two years from now when Lin will show himself to be nowhere near Melo's league as far as star power and NBA dominance at his position.
