How many mics did Inspectah Deck's Uncontrolled Substance album get in The Source Magazine?

Yeah looking back this album wasn't as bad as we thought when it dropped. I don't know why nobody can get this dude some good beats.

The album was good

RZA hooked him up with a couple of joints

Deck is a great producer. He produced a few joints on the album.

4th Disciple hooked him up with some good production too

And Pete Rock hooked him up with a great beat too. Vinia Mojica singing on this joint was so perfect :ohlawd:

Album was solid but I dunno...alway thought there was something off about it.

There was some nice production but it just felt like he wasn't being given that A1 level production from RZA and the Wu-Elements.

It's an enjoyable listen if you just want to stick some Wu sounding music but it's a damn shame a rapper of the caliber of Deck (especially the level he was at around this time) doesn't have a true classic solo album.

Yeah, it doesn't have the same feel the first Wu solo albums have.

The rating was spot on. It's a solid album, nothing more, nothing less. It just doesn't have any stand out tracks to elevate it.

Deck's best project is Cynthia's Son.

INS should have been on the 94-96 roll-out. We were robbed as fans. :mjcry:

Cynthia's Son is a gem. Dope mixtape that shoulda been an official album. If he had some Wu features on there and they kept the track that had the Anita Baker sample (can't find that track on the streaming apps) and it would've been one of the better Wu solos from the last 15 years.
