Had to learn it in catholic school (went to a mostly black catholic school) as a little kid...:wow:
Same for me. Used to know the first verse by heart but it’s been a long time since I sang it (went to a mixed high school an a predominately white university). I wonder if these schools even teach black history anymore?

I'm in my 40s, from the South, and raised Presbyterian. Of course I know it. The last is a whole other story within itself.

I feel like you should have to upload a .wav of u singing this song to prove your skin on here if somebody calls u a cac LMFAO.

Nah. The onus isn't on the accused but the accusers.

People having to "identify" themselves everytime someone anonymous calls them out is literally cacish.

It should be a two way street. Full proof and verification of the accusers. No more anonymous crime stopper tips.

I went to an Afrocentric school. We sung it every morning instead of doing the "Pledge of Allegiance"

Shout out to Benning School.

Facing the rising sun of our new day begun, let us march on till victory is won.:blessed:

I went to a school in Denver for two years and same thing. Every morning. Still able to recite it.

#ADOS
learned about it in history class in junior high. But we skimmed over it in a brief manner

cant memorize it off the top. I imagine people in the south, dmv, and where theres more black people they were more exposed to it on a daily so they can
I learned it in elementary school in Harlem. That and the principles of Kwanzaa. (I love telling old folks that #ADOS is an expression of Kujichagulia. Argue against that. :youngsabo:)
