Man, there were many mornings when I'd pull into the work parking lot mad at the world ready to snap. Getting up out of my comfortable bed at an ungodly hour, to fight traffic and drive to a place that you don't wanna be for the next 8-10 hours and be around people you wouldn't normally associate with .

I like my job, don't really like the work, but I don't hate it.
It pays well, I never take my work home, I'm never stressed over work, I never even think about work when I'm off the clock. Timing is flexible; I have a 3 hour window to get in, so I can sleep in when needed and I'm never stressed sitting in unexpected traffic...commute is really short anyways, but I don't punch a clock. Boss is cool, not constantly looking over my shoulder. Standard office hours, so weekends and holidays off. Given the short commute, cool boss and not punching a clock, I never have to waste time off to deal with things like meeting contractors at the house, or doctor appointments, and even court dates sometimes. Oh and when I do take time off I pretty much manage that myself, no need to give them a ton of notice.

I love my job! My boss is awesome, my salary is great and work/life balance is good. I'm very thankful for it all.
That's your problem right there. Expecting someone to pay you for doing what you want to do. Pay yourself.
