How Many of Y'all Know We Could Multiply This Easily?

Well the problem was 14 x 12 and I only did 14 x 10, so I still need to account for the 14 x 2.

I'm probably making it harder for myself but that's how I quick multiply.

Well yeah I still do that with the easier numbers but higher shyt like 45 x 62 is when I would have to bust the calculator out

Here's another way. First multiply 14 by 10 to get 140. Then multiple 14 by 2 (the remaining 2) to get 28. Add them both is 168. This way takes more training.

ive been doing that since high school. Always told people I did math the harder way but thats what I was used to.
Once those number get higher though its more difficult

This is basically the second step in the first problem, he just added the numbers in his head instead of writing them down. For instance, in the first problem, he added ‘2’ and ‘4’ in his head, instead of writing down ‘2’ and ‘4’ in the second column of the first problem. It’s all the same really. One is just doing the calculation in your head instead of writing the calculation out which deceptively makes it look like a shortcut, it’s not.
