Because Sega had all the sports games. Which a lot of adults fukked with it.

Yup. I was team Sega at that time. I remember my uncle had all the sports game like Madden, NHL, etc. We used to come over my Uncle's house.

Sis got an SNES from grandparents, and parents copped me a genesis...so I felt fortunate to have access to both.

Played both sides, but rolled with SNES more cause we had an NES prior.


I rented the fukk outta MK cause of the blood, after we found out bytch ass Nintendo made it sweat

But when SNES came back with MK2...it was over...and of course SF2.

Then neighbor had LTTP so played that and borrowed Super Metroid from the homie.

Dad fukked with contra so when hard Corp dropped for genesis we copped it

nintendo won the mainstream, sega had the edgy kids, sports fans, and the arcade heroes.

I had a SNES, that my father stole from my half-brother's mother (smh; he only stole the console itself, moms had to buy the controllers, RF cables/adapters and games). My cousin had the genesis. We spent like nearly every other weekend over each other's houses, so I got to play plenty of the genesis games I wanted. Probably the closest, most competitive gen there was, but SNES squeaked out the victory in the end. SNES was the technically better system overall (gfx and sound most notably), but Genesis ran faster. It's practically a toss up of who had the better games. I give it to SNES on the personal tip, especially for the rpgs, but I can't front like Genesis didn't have some of my fav. games at the time either (word to Strees of Rage 2 and Shinobi III).

Super Nintendo vs Sega Genesis - Was bad.
Playstation vs Sega Saturn vs Nintendo 64 - Not that bad
PS2 vs Gamecube vs Xbox vs Dreamcast - was no smoke because of the PS2 domination
PS3 vs 360 the shyt ramped back and there has been no chill since.

I think mega drive is a cooler sounding name, but genesis works.
