I wish I could say it was :duck:but it was. I really lost my cool there and I was ashamed of it. That was summer of 2008.

That wasn't when I hit rock bottom during my college career though. I ended up losing it and put myself in western psych for 8 days in 2010. Most trying 8 day period of my life. It was like jail and rehab.

I don't hate college, but it was boring as hell. I made the mistake of not living on campus, I didn't because I live 20min away and it's expensive. I think that would've changed things drastically. I just hate school in general, though. Plus I was undecided for a long time at first and didn't know what I should do. I made a business decision to get a degree that will get me a good job after college, I picked accounting and will be graduating this spring.

Everyone thinks living on-campus would make a big difference. It doesnt, especially since everyone lives off-campus anyway after the first year. Basically if you already have a friend group they'll come visit you, plus you can host parties and shyt and not have to worry about RAs.

Don't worry, if you weren't in greek life or a cute girl, college will probably be "boring"

RAs were the worst when I as living on campus.

I got caught twice by them...once for beer and the other for weed. Because they had private security, they didn't turn me over to cops and just made me do community service picking up trash around campus.

Some RAs are complete a$$holes. At my school they put all the dikk RAs in the freshmen dorms. One student got kicked out of school because they were caught with alcohol the first week of school.

It's annoying that they even punish people for that shyt, especially since the people punishing you all did the exact same shyt at your age

And even though I'm graduating, I still feel loserish at times because my peers from back home are well into their careers, have houses, wives, kids etc. So sometimes I feel like instead of succeeding, I'm merely catching up. The silver lining I guess is that in 30 years, it won't matter that I graduated at 26 instead of 22.

I guarantee when you graduate, get a job, and start working, you will not give a damn about what your peers are doing, because you'll be too busy enjoying yourself(provided you didn't pick a bad major).

Things change quick. How do you know you won't shoot off quick in your career and pass them up in a short time period? That's what happened when I got my MBA. Things spooled up real fast. If I could have told 22 year old me what the deal was going to be in 6 years I'd have been way less stressed. But I didn't know that back then, so I had to keep working till I got to where I am.

We all run a different race and we all are going to the same place eventually(in the ground) so don't trip too hard. Don't worry about the wife and kids thing either. As a man, you can get that at any time in your late 20's 30's and 40's. EASILY. And from what I see it ain't the best move to make if you enjoy your freedom anyway. I know few happily married people.

You'll always feel like a loser in some way if you compare yourself too much to others, because there's so many levels of success.

Take Derrick Rose for example. Guy is a few years younger than me, he made 20 mill last year, lives in the most expensive building in my city, is on TV, has his own shoe deal, headphone deal, newborn son, and a model gf. I could easily feel like a loser if I wasn't thankful for the things I do have in my life (career, education, family, etc), so keep your head up about it.

Yea. I know when I get a job and start making money, I won't care as much. I appreciate the words of wisdom though, it made me feel a little better about it.

I majored in Economics btw.

I think it did the opposite for me breh, I got to talking about D. Rose.

That was our Point GAWD :to:

But If you've got an Econ degree, go work for the Federal/State government.
No Masters degree required, paygrades are based off years of service. :wow:

All the Econ majors I know that work for the Govt are :eat:

They don't make as much as private industry guys as quickly, but the jobs are so cush:noah:

I was just an average high school student so could only go to a community college. and I didn't focus and study or finish my degree. if i could back and do things differently i would and start doing better in high school so I can have a better job atleast.

I loved college, but I wish I didn't go -- at least for a year or two.
I just realize now that at the time, I wasn't as mentally prepared and dedicated. It wasn't that I couldn't do the work. I'm a smart guy, I think. But you just have to know why you are there and put the fun stuff to the side a bit.

Thankfully I didn't wind up with too much debt. I feel bad now for kids who go to school and have to figure out what they want to be while racking up $20,000 or more in debt each year.
