How many people here can actually dance?

I've always shied away from going to clubs due to this reason. I haven't been in years (23 now) but for the dozen times I've been, I just ended up standing against a wall with a drink in my hand looking stupid. I can do very basic things, but anyone that looks at me for more than 6 seconds can tell I have no clue what I'm doing.

Has a no-dancing ability hindered anyone here from not going to clubs? Do people actually learn to dance or is it you either you can or can't? I've watched some videos but still have clue.

Now I'm getting older and my clubbing days are about to expire, I'm thinking of giving it a go again. A lot of my friends have met bad bytches in clubs (started by dancing with them). Not sure sure if it's actually worth the investment in practising.

You can't be Angolan and not know how to dance :manny:...I mean you can be; but it's something you gotta learn to live with the hard way. People will low key discriminate if you don't know how to dance. Ain't nobody gonna disrespect you:whoa:, but you'll spend the whole party sitting down and eating, with your mum/aunts coming to dance with you outta pity and shyt.
That's the society I grew up in. :yeshrug:
So I swam like a mufukka. :myman:
Kizomba and Semba made me proficient in Bachata, Salsa, Merengue. Kuduro made me proficient in dancing to Hip-Hop. I'm a specialist in getting a dead party poppin'.

I'd been pop-locking since I was 6, break-dancing by 12. Picked-up moves from watching music videos and Soul Train after that.

These days, you really don't have to do much on the floor so don't stress about not looking 'cool'.

Back in my day.......:old:.......you weren't doing anything unless you worked up a sweat. Ain't nobody trying to sweat no mo'.........

I don't enjoy dancing it's just not fun to me... yet it becomes a prerequisite for getting chicks at a club I bop my head if I'm feeling the music and am only willing to dance if drunk but only if the music is good but I don't drink anymore so there becomes little reason for me to go to clubs

Yes I used to do dancing and cheerleading in elementary. My family is Nigerian so we do a lot of dancing.
Now I would not make it on so you think you can dance or Americas best dance crew :whoa:But I can hold my own at a party.

I actually feel bad for y'all for missing out on the New Jack Swing/Latin Freestyle era. Had every ethnicity out there having MAD fun to dope beats all night long.

Now, y'all just stand around, drinking/looking at your smartphones and taking selfies.
