I'm waiting on Black Friday
Quality TVs don't typically go on sale on Black Friday. The best time to get a TV is when the new models come out and last year's models go on clearance which is usually spring to summer after CES happens. Usually around then you can cop last year flagship for a reasonable price.

Yes and No bruh. Yes, what you said about NEW models coming in so older models go on clearance.. that's true.
BUT, everything goes on sale during black friday bruh, or at least they act like they do :ld:
You not gonna get a TOP OF THE LINE TV for $300, but you might get a huge mad decent one for a reasonable price
I'm pretty certain you have eaten off of Negro Friday many times, and you will again

Most retail stores outside of Best Buy don't even sell tv models within two models of the flagship tv.

On Black Friday most models are super budget TVs with stripped down features and some of them are models only created for those sales with stuff like reduced HDMI ports and other features dropped.

The good TVs get marked down maybe around the super bowl and again when they're getting replaced with the latest model. If you cop a TV from Target, Walmart, Kmart and stores like that guarantee if it's not a Vizio it's low to barely mid range.

Most big box retailers don't waste shelf space stocking TVs that cost over 2-3 grand like many high end sets cost.

He's right. Absolutely.

I used to work in Best Buy. I'm not sure if they still have it, but there was two sections. The regular section for everyone to shop. Then the high end section with 10k dollar tvs and shyt.

Most people think you going to department stores and seeing a tv for 1500 and that's the best of the best. Please. That shyt is Low to mid range at best. very low

But realistically. 99% of Americans ain't buying no 20k dollar tv either. So getting something that looks good enough is typically, well, good enough.

And that's why 4K ain't selling. People looking at their 1080p they copped 2-3 years ago and saying "fukk I need this shyt for"

Checked out some 4K HDR tvs this weekend because of this thread. Not missing out on much. The difference to the untrained eye is minor. I'll patiently wait for the real next gen thing when it comes to TV technology.

We less than a week away from glory.....Whose upgraded since the thread was last upped? :sas2:

I bought a 2nd Samsung KS8000 (49") and a 2nd Samsung 4K UHD player, both for the bedroom. They replaced a Samsung 46" 1080 set and a Sony blu-ray player. I think I'm set with tv's and players for awhile.

here's when you buy new TVs:

1. Super Bowl Season. Jan/Feb.

2. Summer, right when the new models drop.

3. Black Friday, don't go for the budget TVs, go for the high end model that may have gone on sale by 200-300 bucks, no one is going to be looking for that.

Here's what I paid $450 for at the top of the year, right place, right time. Baseline 4K: 48" Samsung 6400 series. retailed at 899...i tell ppl it's a 50" though :lolbron: It's a decent upgrade from my 40" 1080p.

The next time I buy a TV, it's going to be a 60-65 top line TV...
