In previous generations, we'd hear more about units sold. Installed user base and shyt like that.

This generation, it's mostly "units shipped." This tells me that neither Sony nor M$ is happy with the actual sales.

How much of this is just a change in the gaming environment and how much was because of COVID and how long it took for folks to get consoles? Imagine if COVID happened but there were no supply chain issues......millions sitting at home playing the latest from Sony/MS. Instead a bunch of folks couldn't even get a console.
