I dvr'd this week's raw and smackdown to give them both a look since the brand extension happened. all of the Black wrestlers are all smiling, dancing, flipping, happy-go-lucky. none are main eventers.
I was thinking about the New Day and how when they 1st got together, everyone thought they were gonna be this "new nation" type group. except they went the total opposite direction. to their credit, they got "over" big. and have been selling merch, I think. BUT, they've been going no where for a while now. does any one care that they are the tag champions? they've been stale, to me, for a while. I've said on here before they needed to start getting serious at some point. the comedy shyt is cool and all if you only plan on being a mid-lower card guy with no aspirations of being the main guy.
I look at them and compare them with the Shield guys. the shield debuted and were together for what? 2years? they came in, not as a comedy act, but as serious ass kickers. were main eventers in big time feuds and have now not only main evented wrestlemania but ALL THREE HAVE BEEN World Champion. meanwhile, the new day 2 years later are still......dancing.
why hasn't Big E gotten a singles push yet coming off the success of the New Day's comedy run? why wasn't he, or one of them included in the 6 pack contenders match?
why is R Truth STILL doing his goofy shuckin and jivin routine?
the one time he started getting over as a singles competitor was when he started acting serious. but tsc's god HHH was like, naw lets make him goofy again...becuz those people are here just to entertain in a certain way. they literally just put him in the Booker T role as golddust's partner from 2003
except booker had more credibility.Darren Young, Titus O'neal, Apollo Crews, all the same. smiling and dancing. mid card for life. actually, maybe it will be different for Crews. he's new, they gonna give him a slight push right? maybe win the IC belt. maybe tag with Cena a few times. but nothing like what they will do with AJ Styles or Finn Balor.

if they asked him to dance.

Remember when Miz was considered the Jannetty of Miz/Morrison?
no. they've been in charge of creative for over a decade. if they thought or wanted a black wrestler given a serious push, they would have fought for it. I don't know where you're getting this idea that they feel otherwise.
