Just met someone in Denver who didn't realize Sacramento or Raleigh are the capitals of their states, which I guess isn't too surprising. Denver is isolated and not really close to anywhere, and over 1100 miles from both my cities. It makes sense someone here may not know other state capitals besides their own
So it got me thinking of all the capital cities I've been to:
Sacramento
Salt Lake
Cheyenne
Denver
Indianapolis
Oklahoma City
Little Rock
Nashville
Atlanta
Columbia
Raleigh
Richmond
Charleston
Harrisburg
Albany
Hartford
Providence
Boston
Manchester
So I'm at 19. Cheyenne is probably the worst I've seen. There is literally nothing there. It has some quaint charm to it but man, there's nothing worth really seeing there other than saying you've been to Wyoming. Predictably, not a lot of black people, which stands out more because it's a small city...
I'm on record as saying Salt Lake us the most beautiful city in America, and I stand on that. An absolutely gorgeous, landscaped city. My favorite capital cities are probably my homes (Sac and Rgh), throw Richmond in there too. But Salt Lake stands out for its sheer beauty!
