The vote or die campaign, Kerry being compared to Kennedy plus the everybody in the community saying W wasn't shyt had 20 year old me thinking Kerry was a lock.

Welcome to the paradox we've allowed ourselves to believe. It's all "unimportant" - politics, childhood education, law, health, climate change, life itself - you're raised to think it's all somebody else's problem until it becomes deadly important and you're scrambling to just tread water.

Actually the total opposite. New Orleans the very bottom of the map. I didn't understand how a war could be a stimulant for the economy at the time, neither did the people around me. The sentiment was always " Republicans wanna bring back slavery"

I'd say the true important elections of this century was 2008, 2016, 2020 and 2024 will be the most important simply because an authoritarian that tried to overthrow the government to stay in power and stole classified documents absolutely cannot be allowed to return as President.
