But that's an extreme analogy and i'm surprised that such a woman is in Turkey, I thought Turkey was more modern than that compared to other islamic countries.

You weaken yourself when you don't have a woman in your life who can be honest with you and point out your short comings only with good faith efforts to help you advance in your goals and make you a happier person. There are women who don't seem to understand that criticism can be constructive and they think the criticism they level at their men is constructive when it's really her just trying to get him to cater to her ego and desires. She's not trying to share responsibility in the relationship, she's trying to make you put her first and make you responsible for her happiness.
